Effn Tan is, without a doubt, the best self-tanner I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried pretty much everything on the market!
The application process is incredibly easy and hassle-free. The formula glides on smoothly and evenly, and the consistency is perfect, not too thick or too runny, so it’s simple to spread without any mess. I highly recommend using the Effn mitt too for an even, streak-free finish every time. Don’t usually buy into a specific brand of mitt, but this one is game-changing!
The colour is what really stands out. It develops into a gorgeous, natural golden-brown hue that never looks orange or “fake” - despite me being super pale. Unlike other self-tanners I’ve used, which often leave a yellow, green of red undertone, Effn Tan provides a beautiful, sun-kissed glow that looks as though I’ve just come back from abroad, all-year-round. The tan deepens nicely as it develops, so you can easily control how dark you want it if you’re a newbie to tanning.
The fade is another major bonus. I’ve had bad experiences with other tanners where they fade in patches, leaving uneven/streaky/tiger bread areas. But Effn Tan fades evenly over several days without any unsightly patches or streaks. I just moisturise my skin regularly (with the Effn fragrance-free moisturiser, of course) to keep it hydrated, and the tan lasts longer, fading naturally without any odd marks. It’s the perfect balance of long-lasting colour and a smooth, even fade.
